FUTURE COMPTA’s BEE2FIREDETECTION was the technology selected for the early detection of forest fires, using artificial intelligence, by the rePLANT project.
The rePLANT project was born from the need to develop integrated and innovative solutions, an initiative operationalized by the Collaborative Laboratory ForestWISE – Collaborative Laboratory for Integrated Forest and Fire Management, an initiative that mobilizes 20 entities, including leading companies in the sector and Research & Innovation (R&I) entities, in a common and coordinated effort to implement collaborative strategies that will give rise to new Processes, Products and Services – Lines of Action.
The BEE2FIREDETECTION installations will take place in several locations from north to south of the country. Note that this technology uses Artificial Intelligence to detect fires, by processing algorithms developed by FUTURE COMPTA based on information transmitted by optical and thermal cameras. With a success rate of over 95% in detecting fires, BEE2FIREDETECTION even won a world award, winning the Global Champion of IBM Watson Build.

With an action period of 3 years, rePLANT is a project supported by Compete/Portugal 2020, through the Competitiveness and Innovation Operational Program (POCI) and the Lisbon 2020 Operational Program.
